Ste. Anne took game one in the best of three Provincial Senior A championship with a 4-2 victory on Sunday afternoon.
Killarney took a 1-0 lead 8:39 into the first period but the Aces Braden Purtill evened it up three and a half minutes later and the first period finished tied at one.
Ste. Anne took a lead they wouldn't reliquish early in the second with Jordan DePape finding the net followed by Jon Mitchell five and a half minutes later to make it 3-1 Aces. The Shamrocks made it a one goal game with a short-handed goal and it was 3-2 headed to the third period.
Ste. Anne goaltender Travis Bosch held strong as Killarney pushed but couldn't break through. Purtill's 2nd of the game into a Killarney empty net made it a 4-2 final.
Bosch was strong in the Aces net stopping 34 of 36 shots while his counterpart in the Shamrocks net, Brian Archibald, was busy stopping 52 of 55 shots in the loss.
