C-Hawks win series 2-1

April 13, 2024 - Provincial Champs To Be Decided in Game Three

For the second game in a row, special teams made a difference but for game two it was as an undisciplined C-Hawks team that provided the opportunities for the Aces.

Ste. Anne netted four first period goals, three on the power play by Brenden Walker, to take a 4-1 lead after 20 minutes. The SEMHL's regular season MVP continued his impressive post-season with another goal 3:15 in to the second period and assisted on Cody Fowlie's marker with just under five minutes remaining to make it 6-2 after two periods.

Too bad there wasn't a sponsor for scoring five goals in a game as Walker would have made someone VERY happy (and rich) as he netted his fifth of the game 4:21 into the third to round out the scoring.

Game Stats:
     Bosch - stopped 27 of 29 shots
Walker - Five goals, one assist
Bailey - One Goal, two assists
     DePape - Three assists
Ste Anne - 3 for 5 on power play
     Miniota/Elkhorn - 0 for 2 on power play

April 7, 2024 - Aces Drop Game One

Special teams dominated game one of the provincial Senior A championship in Virden. Miniota/Elkhorn capitalized with three first period powerplay goals and never looked back. The Aces responded in the second with two goals by Brenden Walker and another by Caleb Paisley but that didn't stop the C-Hawks from scoring two more of their own to make it 5-3 after 40 minutes. A Jordan DePape goal 5:35 into the final period made it 5-4 but that was as close as the Aces would get.

Game two goes Saturday night in Niverville as the Aces look to make it to game three.

March 23, 2024 - Ste. Anne Repeats As SEMHL Champs!

Tonight in Warren, the Ste. Anne Aces continued their winning ways as Travis Bosch shutout the Warren Mercs, leading the Aces to their second consecutive SEMHL championship!

Ste. Anne scored two in the first, three more in the second, and two in the final period to seal the victory. Cody Fowlie had two goals and two assists while Brendan Walker had four assists. Bosch's shutout was his first of the playoffs where he led all goaltenders with 10 victories and a 1.81 goals against average!

As selected by the Aces' staff and management, the playoff MVP award was presented to Jordan DePape. He led all playoff scorers with 13 goals to go along with 13 assists.

The Aces will now have a short rest as they wait for the winner of the Tiger Hills Hockey League to compete for the Hockey Manitoba Senior A Championship.

January 28, 2024 - Playoff Positions to be Determined In Final Week

With only a little more than a week to go in the regular season, not one playoff position has been finalized.

Current league leader Ste. Anne could finish in first or second while Warren could end up in first, second or third. Red River has the opportunity to finish second or third and next Friday's matchup in Warren may determine that.

Two of Warren's newest additions (Kuczek and D'Amico) are leading the league in scoring with 15 and 14 points respectively but with nine players within five points of them, it should be an interesting race.

Season Set to Start on October 21st!

Once again, each team will play a home and away game against each other with the top eight teams qualifying for the playoffs.
